As a highly versatile multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, I bring an adaptable, all-encompassing approach to both ensemble and solo settings. My core expertise spans the entire saxophone family—soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone—with the tenor saxophone serving as my primary and most personal voice. Equally at home doubling on clarinet and flute, I bridge the gap between distinct woodwind colors with ease. I am a strong sight-reader with a deep foundation in classical performance, yet I am equally established as an improviser. This multi-faceted skill set is further anchored by a strong command of the piano and deep experience as a disciplined choral singer, allowing me to fluidly transition between leading a section, interpreting complex scores, or driving an improvisation.

A diverse musical palette has made me a sought-after asset for commercial work, including extensive musical theatre pit orchestration and studio session recordings. My ability to handle book doubles smoothly ensures a reliable, professional presence in the pit, while my session work on saxophone delivers exact style and phrasing on demand.

Over the last 14 years, I have had the privilege of shaping the musical landscape at Rugby School, serving first as Head of Woodwind and subsequently in my current role as Head of Co-curricular Music. My position is highly multifaceted, requiring me to oversee and manage the extensive output of the music department. This includes coordinating and delivering up to 80 high-level events within a single term, ensuring exceptional standards across every performance. Alongside these administrative and leadership responsibilities, I remain deeply embedded in the classroom and studio; I teach class music, provide advanced 1-to-1 instruction for saxophone and clarinet students, and have successfully guided numerous musicians through their diploma qualifications.
My engagement with the school's ensembles spans across coaching the orchestra and concert band, as well as directing the jazz orchestra. As a vocalist, I sing in all of the school choirs—including the elite Temple Consort—and regularly perform evensong as a lay clerk for the Rugby Choristers. Beyond the music department, my broader contribution to the Rugby School community includes serving as a day house tutor and as the Master in Charge of Golf. Committed to community outreach and widening access to music, I also direct the Social Services music project, lead the "Hands on Woodwind" initiative at Bilton Grange, and run the Blue Note Society.
